Maritza Owens

Founder & CEO

Maritza Owens is a pioneer in bringing farmer’s markets to low-income New York City neighborhoods, one of the city’s largest managers of farmer’s markets in communities of color. For more than 25 years, she has been involved in some aspect of community-based planning, advocacy, environmental justice, economic development, and public health.

PERLA VAZQUEZ

Program Director

Perla Vazquez has been part of the Harvest Home team since 2019. She started as a Community Chef in 2019 moving the ranks into the position of Site Coordinator in October of 2020. In 2021 she was promoted Program Associate and in 2023, she was promoted Program Director. As the Program Director, she is responsible for managing both administrative and operation of programs and markets.  Additionally, she publishes our weekly newsletter “Food Talk” that is received by over 3,000 subscribers.

Mark Benedetti

Program Director Farm to City Program

Mark Benedetti (he/his) is Harvest Home Farmer’s Market Farm-to-City Program Director. In this role, he manages and promotes the program and recruits local farms to participate. As someone interested in sustainable agriculture, Mark enjoys talking with farmers, agricultural organizations, and others to help bring in more producers to Harvest Home’s farmer’s markets.

Ebony DeBerry oversees the company’s financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts.
