Joseph and Dan Morgiewicz
Morgiewicz Produce Inc. was established in 1905 when Joseph Stanley Morgiewicz purchased 5 acres of swamp land from a neighbor. Although not much to look at, Joseph knew that the soil below the swamp was some of the richest farmland in the world. Located in the town of Warwick in the heart of Orange County’s black dirt country it would be the beginning of a legacy that is now in its fourth generation and preparing for the fifth generation to take hold of the reins.
After decades of being a wholesale operation, in 1997 mom Sophie, and sons Joseph, David, and Dan decided to begin growing a variety of crops for the retail market, also. One of their very first markets that year was with Harvest Home Farmers Markets at the Mt. Eden location in the Bronx. Now in its 20th season it has become one of our largest markets of the 11 farm markets that we attend weekly where we sell our produce. A large variety of produce is grown for our customers including sweet corn, peppers, cilantro, a variety of lettuces, celery, eggplant, calaloo, tomatoes and many other vegetables. Morgiewicz Produce has over 160 acres of land under cultivation with almost every aspect of every crop under our direct supervision from the time it is planted until the time it is harvested. Select items also get packed and shipped through our wholesale channels, much of it to the Hunts Point terminal market in the Bronx.
Morgiewicz Produce has always strived toprovide customers with fresh quality produce at affordable prices.
