About Savor the Season

Savor the Season – Uptown is our annual gala that celebrates, through food, the rich and diverse population of our city. We invite you to celebrate our 25 years of providing access to farm fresh produce, now at 17 locations; our mission of reducing food inequity and the vital work of improving health.  The rate of diabetes in New York is 10.5%, 4.4% higher than the national average. Your participation will support the vital work of Harvest Home in reducing food inequity to increase health outcomes. As Robert Louis Stevenson wrote: Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap but by the seeds that you plant.”

Savor the Season is the perfect opportunity to be a partner in combating hunger and poor nutrition, improving health and reducing food inequity in NYC, all while savoring delicious food tastings and spirits. Reflecting our city, this year’s “Savor the Season - Uptown” gala theme is “A Taste of Culture”. Supporters and participants will enjoy menu renderings from some of New York's new and established restaurateurs and chefs at the elegant Museum of the City of New York venue.

The museum is the perfect location for our celebration. It reflects the history of our city by educating the public about its distinctive character, especially its heritage of diversity, opportunity, and perpetual transformation.

MENU: A Diverse selection of dishes representative of the multicultural customers and communities we serve. Superb local wines, spirits and specialty cocktails will accompany these delicious tastings. Our outstanding chefs will present a variety of compelling (and perhaps, unfamiliar) dishes that participants may have never thought to order from a menu before. A true exploration experience without having to get on a plane.

EXPERIENCE: Designed as a "walking tour" of some of the best restaurants and chef s, guests will sample the signature dishes, beverages and desserts of Uptown's most outstanding restaurants, chefs, for one night, all under the same roof!. Guests have the opportunity to sample diverse, regional foods prepared with local farm fresh produce, but gain an understanding of the cultures we support.
